It is on the National Register of Historical Places and
has now been converted into a visitor center.

The very nice lady in the Visitor Center really liked Boofle!

Route 66 - Cars!

Route 66 clips the corner of Kansas and in this little clip, is an interesting town and old gas station. In the town of Galena is an old Kan-O-Tex gas station which has been renovated and turned into a tourist stop. It is now called "4 Women On The Route" and is operated by Melba Rigg, the self-proclaimed "Mouth of the South." And sitting outside beside the station is a 1951 International tow truck. When the producers of the hit movie "Cars" came through town as they were doing research before filming, they liked the tow truck so much that it became part of the movie - Tow Mater!
